Dear PQ Families: It is hard to believe that summer vacation is upon us! We wish you all a happy, healthy and safe summer break. Today will be the final Tuesday Newsday until August!

Summer Reading: Please use this link to connect to our summer reading initiative. Students will learn about this in their final library class. All the information is on the library website.

From the Health Office:

• Physicals are required for all students entering the school district for the first time, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd and 5th grade. Dental health certificates are also recommended for all students in theses grades. I can accept any physical dated from 9/5/2017 through present. All Physicals must be submitted within the first 30 days of school. Please notify the nurse of your upcoming appointment, in writing, if you were unable to get an appointment or a copy of the exam completed in the appropriate time frame.
• Incoming kindergarten and any new students to the district will need to have all immunizations records complete. Please feel free to drop them off or mail them to the school when completed. Any student who received any new immunizations should always give updated records to health office.
• Please have the appropriate forms filled out and returned to school along with the medication if your child will be requiring administration of any medications in school next year. Administration of medication forms must also be filled out for any over the counter medication. If possible the medication and forms should be dropped off during open house so they are in place for the first day of school. All the necessary forms can be found on the district website.

School Supplies: Please see the link below to order school supplies. Orders must be placed by June 29th!

Reading Challenge Update - The votes are in! Our readers have decided that we will be making a donation of $1000 to the Nature Conservancy. Thank you to our parents who encouraged reading at home and thank you to our sponsors for making this generous donation possible: North Salem Foundation for Learning, the PTOs at PQ and the MSHS, NSTA and CSEA.

ONE CUB’s bottle recycling program ended with a banner year as over 27,000 bottles/cans were recycled! Recycling funds were able to help many wonderful friends and organizations in our community. Please see the attached thank you!

Happy Summer!

Kindly,
Mrs. Mary Johnson and Dr. Stephanie Bell
