Dear PQ Families:
Student Placement Process: It is that time of year when we begin to consider student placement for the next year. Please see the attached letter regarding the placement process and how parents can support this process.
Fine Arts Night: You are invited to attend our Fine Arts Night at PQ on May, 21st from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Student art work will be displayed in the center core of the building. The PQ Chorus will also perform at 7:00 pm in the gym. Students will vote for their favorite PQ Directory cover! All are welcome to attend!
Fifth Grade Recognition Ceremony: The Fifth Grade Recognition Ceremony will be held on Monday, June 17th at 11:30 am at the MSHS. Invitations will be sent home soon with details related to dress, etc.
School Pack Supply Orders: School Supply Packs will be available to order as of May 15! Please see the attached grade level supply information. ALL ORDERS MUST BE COMPLETED BY JUNE 30, 2013!! Incoming 6th grade parents can get the school supply information on the MS/HS web page.
End of the Year Events: Please be sure to consult the calendar on the PQ website for updated calendar events. It is a very busy time of year and the calendar is continually being updated!

Just a reminder -- with the upcoming vocal concert on May 14, there is no parking allowed in the circle in front of school -- it is a fire zone. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please help us remind Juniors who wish to apply for an on campus parking place in their senior year must complete the on-campus safe parking program. Please find details on Middle School High School page of the District website http://www.northsalemschools.org/schools/student_parking. Only students who successfully complete the program will be considered for a space next fall. Thanks for the help.
Announcement from the PTO -- The last day for the Box Tops collection will be on Friday May 17, 2012. Please place the box tops in a Ziploc bag with your homeroom teachers name on it and give them to your homeroom teacher. The homeroom that collects the most box tops will be awarded a continental breakfast party before the end of the year. Thanks for your help!

Fifth Grade Welcome to MS – The fifth grade orientation meeting will be held at the MS on Wednesday, May 8th at 7:00 pm. Please mark your calendar!
Dismissal Reminder: Just a reminder about dismissal…..it is a very busy time of the day and safety is of utmost importance. PLEASE send a note in each morning your child has an activity after-school or there is a transportation change. It reassures children at the beginning of the day that they know what they are doing after school and helps us get them there on time. Thank you for helping us make the end of the day SAFE and EFFICIENT.
Calling all Artists: On May 21st, students will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite 2013-14 PQ Directory cover drawn by one of our PQ students. Please see the attached flyer if your child would like to submit a drawing for consideration. The flyer includes specific drawing details including the return date.

• Project Supplies for Grade 8 -- This year with our goal to cut down on waste, the eighth grade is asking the community to donate unused/unwanted project supplies so that when it comes time for students to create their Washington, DC monuments, they won't necessarily have to buy supplies. We will be keeping supplies in room 219 and students will be welcome take supplies to build their monuments. Items such as Styrofoam, decorative pebbles, glass vase beads, poster board, basically anything you would buy at Michael's for a project would be most useful. The collection will end on May 3rd. We cannot guarantee that there will be enough to complete every project, but we hope this will at least help.

• Junior/Senior Prom -- Just a reminder that tickets for the Prom will be on sale in the high school cafeteria from May 6-10. Please be sure you pick up the packet of information in the main office and be sure that all of the information in the packet is completed before you purchase tickets.
