Art students participated in the General Federation of Women's Clubs Art Contest

North Salem Art students participated in the General Federation of Women's Clubs Art Contest, sponsored by Karen Amann, member of the Somers Women's Club. Artwork was submitted within several media categories, including charcoal, ink, pencil, color pencils, crayon, mixed media, sculpture, computer art, and photography. North Salem art students Claire Diehl, Rachel Lenchner and Isabelle Van Kleeck placed 1st at the District level in the media categories of Ink, Mixed Media and Charcoal. Claire Foster placed 2nd at the District level with her drawing of crayons and Marisa Stark placed 2nd in Photography with her photograph of a melted fan. The artwork of 1st place winners went on to the State level for competition, and Rachel Lenchner's mixed media torn paper portrait collage was awarded 1st place; Claire Diehl's multiple perspective ink drawings were awarded 2nd place.
