Students at Pequenakonck Elementary School learned about the significance of bees for the survival of humans during a special Earth Day assembly.

During the assembly, students learned that without bees, there would be no plant life; without plants, there would be no animals; and finally, without plants, human life would not be possible.

The lessons of the assembly connected directly with the fifth-grade pollinator garden that fifth-grade teacher Virginia Tait spearheads with support from the Garden Club.

Thank you to Colin Remick from Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES for presenting this informative assembly.
