During the second session of Genius Hour at Pequenakonck Elementary School, students combined technology and traditional crafts to create gifts for others.

A clever detective uses all his or her senses to observe closely to find what others missed. North Salem students assume the identities of clever detectives by suspending biases and assumptions to find what is “really there” is a creative, divergent thinking process. Scientists, artists, historians, business executives and others learn more from being a clever detective.

Learning to take the perspective of other people and groups gives North Salem students more information about an issue, challenge, disagreement or other problem to solve. Information is power! Walking in the shoes of other people is a smart, creative strategy.
