Welcome to Mission Monday, a series of posts highlighting the ways North Salem students embrace the district mission of engaging in continual improvement, including questioning, defining and solving problems through critical and creative thinking. During the second session of Genius Hour at Pequenakonck Elementary School, students combined technology and traditional crafts to create gifts for others.

Students learned to use a soldering iron to create LED light-up pipe cleaner critters, designed and engineered LED light-up cards, combined the traditional craft of paper quilling with LED lights and made circuits for paper crafts. The students tested their LED light circuits and redesigned them when necessary.
