MISSION MONDAY: Problem-Solving in AP Environmental Science


Welcome to Mission Monday, a series of posts highlighting the ways North Salem students embrace the district mission of engaging in continual improvement, including questioning, defining and solving problems through critical and creative thinking. The students in North Salem High School’s AP Environmental Science class have been researching the topics and types of questions asked on the Environmental Science AP exams for the last 16 years.

They used creative, divergent and critical, convergent thinking to list possible questions and then pick the ones that were the most likely to on the test. They predicted correctly! An essay question on the exam asked about the mysterious decline in the population of bats and what would happen to the ecosystem if that trend continued.
