North Salem Middle School/High School has earned recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s annual national high school rankings.

The school ranked No. 15 in Westchester, No. 49 in New York State and No. 429 nationally. The rankings were determined by a number of factors, including a college readiness index, mathematics proficiency, English proficiency and the student/teacher ratio (9:1) during the 2013-14 academic year.

“This recognition comes only as a result of the longstanding partnership between parents, teachers, students, staff and administrators, which is so much a part of North Salem,” said North Salem MS/HS Principal Dr. Patricia P. Cyganovich. “It feels particularly joyful following the support of the North Salem community of the 2015-2016 school budget, which gives us not only the financial but the emotional support to continue our work in fulfilling the mission of the North Salem schools: To engage students to continuously learn, question, define and solve problems through critical and creative thinking.”
