Art Students Move on to State Competition

North Salem High School art students recently submitted work to the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Art Contest, coordinated by club member Karen Amann.

Two students received first-place awards in their categories, earning themselves a spot in the state convention competition at the end of April. Julia Colletes (charcoal) won for her drawing of a collection of still life items, and Alina DiMella (digital) was chosen for her seed packet illustration.

Additionally, students Mary Farias (watercolor) and Sarah MacLeod (oil) received second-place awards in their categories. Lamorna Coyle (animal ink), Chloe DeLeo (mixed media) and Michelle Doggen (graphite portrait) earned third-place awards in their categories.

Congratulations to all participants and winners!
