The Golden Stage Society at North Salem Middle/High School was excited to present “Damn Yankees” on March 20, 21 and 22, starring our very own assistant principal, Dr. George Bovino!

Winner of 11 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Choreography, “Damn Yankees” had fans on the edge of their seats as they enjoyed musical theater hits such as "Whatever Lola Wants," "Heart" and "Six Months Out of Every Year."

Fifty-one students ranging from grades six through 12 took the stage alongside Dr. Bovino. In addition to the cast, approximately 30 other students have been involved with the production’s stage crew and backstage work.

“Our students were fortunate to be able to work with a choreographer with Broadway credits who teaches at the American Music and Dramatic Academy in Manhattan,” said musical director Doug Coates. “She made sure the students learned technique as well as choreography. They rose to the challenge beautifully, and it really was a stepped-up show.”
